About This Site
Independent expedition cruise research for the Southern Ocean's most spectacular route.
Who We Are
We are an independent editorial team of polar travel researchers and expedition enthusiasts. We are not travel agents, we do not sell cruises, and we receive no commission, payment, or benefit from any cruise operator featured on this site.
Our only goal is to help travellers make a well-informed choice before committing to one of the most significant journeys of their lives. A Falklands, South Georgia & Antarctica expedition typically costs USD $12,000–$25,000 per person and lasts 17–23 days. Getting it right matters.
Our Mission
The expedition cruise market is opaque: operators all claim to offer the "ultimate polar experience," and marketing materials rarely address the details that actually differentiate a great voyage from a mediocre one — things like how long you spend ashore each day, whether all passengers can land simultaneously, or the credentials of the expedition team.
We exist to cut through that noise. By analysing fleet specifications, IAATO compliance records, passenger reviews, and published itinerary data, we produce objective, evidence-based rankings that no operator can buy their way into or out of.
Our Experience
Our team has collectively researched and reviewed over 40 polar expedition products across the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and Antarctica. We draw on:
- Published IAATO membership and compliance data
- Fleet specifications from official operator documentation
- Verified passenger reviews from independent platforms
- First-hand accounts from the polar travel community
- Academic and conservation literature on subantarctic and Antarctic ecosystems
Independence Statement
This site operates with full editorial independence. We do not:
- Accept payment from operators for inclusion in rankings
- Offer "sponsored" or "featured" placement in exchange for fees
- Receive commission on bookings made through links on this site
- Accept complimentary voyages in exchange for editorial coverage
If any of that ever changes, we will disclose it prominently. Our credibility depends on it.
